HARTSFIELD-JACKSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

MAYNARD H. JACKSON INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL


MEP/FP Engineering and Construction Management Services were provided. TEC designed for and achieved LEED Gold Certification. The terminal includes approximately 1.2M SF, 16 aircraft gates, 12 gates for 4 Group IV and 8 Group V aircrafts, 5-stories, an Automated Guideway Transit System – passenger peoplemover station, test track, passenger concourse, 62,990 SF of baggage system, a pedestrian bridge from the parking deck to the terminal, departure gate holdrooms, 22,880 SF of concessions areas and 2 airline club room lounges. This terminal has a design for ice generation and storage used to reduce the circulation of cooling media to the loading bridges of each gate.

This system reduces the cost of airplane operations at the gate by allowing the plane to shut down its onboard power unit and save jet fuel. The ice storage also allows off peak operation for power rate reduction.

DELTA SKY CLUB


MEP/FP Engineering Design Services were provided to Delta Air Lines for the Delta Sky Club on Concourse A. The Delta Sky Club renovation near A17 is the busiest club in the Delta system, with more than 55,000 visits monthly and measures nearly 16,000 SF. This refurbished club offers updated restrooms, satellite television, and a work zone complete with complementary Wi-Fi, cyberbars with power outlets, desktop computers, wireless printers and additional charging stations.

Other Delta Sky Clubs were completed in the following airports: Jackson, MS; Little Rock, AR; and Denver, CO.

CENTRALIZED COMMAND AND CONTROL (C4) FACILITY


MEP/FP Engineering Design Services are being provided to HKS, Inc. for the Centralized Command and Control (C4) Facility. The addition to the Centralized Command and Control (C4) Facility includes: an expansion of 8,000 SF general living facility along with driving simulators, and seismic upgrades of the existing facility along with upgrades for a Critical Operation Facility.

FIRE STATIONS 32 AND 40


MEP/FP Engineering Design Services were provided to HKS, Inc. and Fitzgerald Collaborative for Fire Station 32 and Fire Station 40. Fire Station 32 and 40 are 2 20,000 SF buildings including full housing facilities, vehicle deployment bay, and bio-hazard decontamination room for use by the City of Atlanta Fire Department. Energy modeling services were provided for these projects. Each Fire Station had a $13M construction cost. Design has just begun on Fire Station 35.

CINCINNATI/NORTHERN KENTUCKY INT’L AIRPORT
Cincinnati, OH


MEP/FP and Civil Engineering Services were provided. TEC’s involvement includes: an expansion of the new 27 gate Concourse D, renovation of 4 gates and 2 new gates on Concourse C, 25 jet fuel hydrant system renovation and expansion, fuel transmission lines, 20,000-barrel storage fuel farm, truck loading facility, 35 jet fuel pits, pumping systems with 3,000-GPM of fuel capacity, Chef’s Pantry off-site in-flight meal prep/packaging facility, baggage claim, and holding facility.

MEP/FP Engineering Services were also provided for the Delta Airlines Sky Club in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

AIF FORCE FUEL STORAGE FACILITY
Charleston Int’l Airport – Charleston, SC


MEP/FP and Civil Engineering Services were provided for the Air Force Fuel Storage Facility. The Air Force Fuel Storage Facility includes a 45 acre aircraft parking apron with hydrant fuel system, 47 hydrant outlets, separate compressed air pits for engine starting, two 30,000-BBL jet fuel storage tanks, a 20” diameter fuel distribution loop, automatic control valves and devices, surge control, automatic and emergency controls, and associated distribution piping.

MEP/FP and Civil Engineering Services were provided for the City of Charleston for the Charleston Int’l Airport. This project involved: design for a jet fuel storage facility with tender loading stations, gasoline dispensing station, and environmental protection system.

CHICAGO O’HARE INT’L AIRPORT
Chicago, IL


Refueling Engineering and Coordination Services were provided. TEC renovated the fuel systems with the integration of truck fill into a super satellite refueling system and emergency power to satellite pumps, replacement of 12 tanks with 2 67,000 bbl tanks, replacement of 2 tanks with 2 67,000 bbl tanks, replacement of the oil/water separator, roadway lighting, fire control systems, and new design of an off-site in-flight meal prep/packaging facility.

In addition, TEC worked with air carriers for renovation, expansion, or new construction for: JAL – Japan Airlines, Air France Airlines, Swiss Air Airlines, Mexicana Airlines, and Comair Airlines.

DETROIT METROPOLITAN WAYNE COUNTY AIRPORT
Romulus, MI


Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil Engineering Services were provided. The scope for the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport included: as-built documents and detailed operating sequences for the mechanical, electrical, and civil aspects of a 4-tank storage and 5,000 GPM hydrant fueling system serving 3 concourses of the airport.

MEP/FP Engineering Services were also provided for the Delta Airlines Sky Club in the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.

TAMPA INT’L AIRPORT
Tampa, FL


MEP/FP and Civil Engineering Services were provided. TEC completed construction documents, solicited bids, managed construction, and supervised turnover of a new cathodic protection system to protect an existing Northwest Airlines single-wall steel hydrant loop.

MEP/FP Engineering Services were also provided for the Delta Airlines Sky Club in the Tampa International Airport.

PALM BEACH INT’L AIRPORT
West Palm Beach, FL


MEP/FP Engineering Services were provided for the addition and renovation of the Palm Beach International Airport. The addition and renovation of the main terminal included 28,570 SF of terminal, 2 new jet ways and associated holding areas, and jet walk areas for Delta Airlines.

MEP/FP Engineering Services were also provided for the Delta Airlines Sky Club in the Palm Beach International Airport.

ORLANDO INT’L AIRPORT
Orlando, FL


MEP/FP and Civil Engineering Services were provided. Services were provided to Delta Airlines for 65,000 SF of air cargo, maintenance, and support buildings, paving, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, utilities, fencing, staking and grading on 20.7 acres.

MEP/FP Engineering Services were also provided for the Delta Airlines Sky Club in the Orlando International Airport.

LOS ANGELES INT’L AIRPORT
Los Angeles, CA


Refueling Engineering and Coordination Services were provided for Los Angeles International Airport. TEC expanded the hydrant fueling system requiring: a loop distribution system, pumps and filters, surge suppression devices, and loop-type dual-point piping, auto controls for remote pumping, emergency controls, leak detection, flushing system and loop isolation pits with associated automatic isolation valves.

REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL AIRPORT

MEP/FP Engineering Services were provided. The project involved: demolition of 3 hangars, re-route utilities, rehabilitate pavement, design of a new a 3 level, 45,000 SF, 3 gate facility, office space, ticketing, baggage claim, Delta’s GSE shop, tenant spaces, vehicle maintenance rest rooms, and related terminal support facilities.

LOUISVILLE INT’L AIRPORT
Louisville, KY


A MEP/FP Engineering Study was completed of the Louisville International Airport. The Design Study encompassed a full evaluation and modernization of American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Eastern Airlines, Ozark Airlines, Piedmont Airlines, US Air Airlines, and TWA Airlines facilities. The review, evaluation, analysis, and design program involved 59,690 SF of renovation, and 43,990 SF of proposed new construction.

LOGAN INT’L AIRPORT
Boston, MA


Refueling Engineering and Coordination Services were provided for Logan International Airport. TEC was responsible for a comprehensive study to determine how to consolidate 7 airline independent fueling systems into one consolidated system to be used by all parties. The study, which was concluded after one year of investigations, provided a solution to properly consolidate all systems into one system for the entire airport. Efforts also included revamping the way aviation fuel deliveries were provided by offsite providers.

TALLAHASSEE REGIONAL AIRPORT
Tallahassee, FL


MEP/FP and Civil Engineering Services were provided for the renovation and expansion of the Tallahassee Regional Airport. The scope at the Tallahassee Regional Airport included: a new break room, ticket counter, check out storage, manager office, baggage, and check-out storage for the existing concourse and air handling units for the renovation and addition of a passenger holding room.

SEATTLE-TACOMA INT’L AIRPORT
Seatac, WA


Refueling Engineering and Coordination Services were provided for the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. TEC provided drawings of an existing hydrant fuel system with upgrades and construction costs for Delta Airlines. The upgrades included: additional hydrant pits, isolation valves, low-point drains, a control system for fire equipment, pumps, spill containment, replacement of tanks, and a fuel cart calibration station.

JACKSON-MEDGAR WILEY EVERS INT’L AIRPORT
Jackson, MS


MEP/FP and Civil Engineering Services were provided. The Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport project involved an above-ground tank fuel storage and pumping facility. The project included realignment of 4 existing 20,000-gallon above-ground Jet-A fuel tanks, fuel distribution piping, replacement of the transfer pump, testing the pumping system and a flush and test of the entire fuel system.

JACKSONVILLE INT’L AIRPORT
Jacksonville, FL


MEP/FP and Civil Engineering Services were provided. The Jacksonville International Airport scope included investigation and engineering support for permit renewal from the Air & Water Pollution Control Department for industrial wastewater treatment plant operation for the Delta Fuel Farm oil/water separator.

FT. LAUDERDALE-HOLLYWOOD INT’L AIRPORT
Ft. Lauderdale, FL


MEP/FP and Civil Engineering Services were provided to the City of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood for the renovation of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport renovation included a 20,000 SF cabin storage warehouse, a new 75,000 SF air cargo storage and handling building, 12,740 SF expansion of the baggage claim service area, facilities for baggage service, conveyor equipment, and television consoles for Delta Airlines.

COLUMBIA METROPOLITAN AIRPORT
Washington, DC


Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil Engineering Design Review Services on the design documents were provided for the Columbia Metropolitan. The project included: fuel pipeline and truck receiving systems, above-ground fuel storage tanks, fuel containment, controls, and fire detection and suppression. TEC developed comments to verify technical accuracy.

FULTON COUNTY CHARLIE BROWN FIELD

MEP/FP and Civil Engineering Services were provided to the Coca-Cola Corporation for a hangar and fueling facility at Fulton County Charlie Brown Field. The hangar and fueling facility at Fulton County Charlie Brown Field included a 150,000 SF hangar, a fueling system, above ground jet fuel storage, filtering and pumping facility, and underground hydrants at Coca-Cola’s hangar. System storage capacity is 40,000 gallons; pumping/filtering capacity is 300-GPM.

PEACHTREE DEKALB AIRPORT

MEP/FP and Civil Engineering Services were provided for the Rollins Aircraft Hangar at the Peachtree DeKalb Airport. The Rollins Hangar at the Peachtree DeKalb Airport is an 85,000 SF hangar designed to house two corporate Leer jets and some 25,000 SF of office/lounge area. It also includes 2 underground fuel tanks (500 gallons each) and a compressed air system.
